2011 Christmas Surprise

With the help of friends and family we were able to pull off this year’s surprises without a hitch.  Our caravan of elves all donned in Christmas hats made our first delivery to a school in Geneva to surprise a few special children and their teachers with a bike to use in school, joining in on this surprise were the 1st and 2nd graders from the school.  When their teacher actually realized the surprise was for the children in her classroom the tears of joy just started rolling down her cheeks.

The next stop, Glenview to surprise Emily a teenager with CP.   She received a bright orange adaptive bike with her twin sister, mom and dad smiling from ear to ear with a few tears of joy in between.  Next stop, West Chicago to surprise 5 year old Owen who has had 3 open heart surgeries.  During this stop we were joined by Mai Martinez, her family and film crew from Channel 2 news in Chicago.

Our last stop, Geneva to surprise Autumn a 13 year old with CP.  Autumn’s family was here from out of state celebrating together the day after Christmas.  They never saw this one coming!

It is one of our favorite times of the year, we get to feel what it is like to be Santa Claus.  No wonder Santa is so jolly, it is so much fun !! There is nothing like the feeling of seeing the smiles and tears of joy as each child received their surprise.

This is all possible because of the generosity of so many people throughout the United States.  It was Riley’s goal  3 years ago to surprise one child with their very own bike,  to date we have been able to surprise 13 childern.

As more donations arrive Riley and Tommy’s surprises will continue!!
