        Comments:

A previous review gave 2 stars, saying it did not work with 160mm rotors.. BUT IT CAN!... You just need another adapter for this adapter! This item adapts some Trek/Fisher/Klein frames to the 51mm ISO Disc Brake Mount standard. After 2001 most mid to high end Trek mountain (and some hybrid) frames were both V-brake and Disc-Ready, but to run disc you need one of these "Frame adapters." This adapter converts your disc-ready frame to the 51mm standard, which is pretty common. However, most calipers these days are of the 74mm post mount variety. So, to use post mount calipers, you need a 51mm to post "Disc Adapter" for this "Frame Adapter." Some other calipers are still of the 51mm iso sort and may still be of use with a different "Disc Adapter" for this "frame adapter" Bottom line, if you have a suitable old trek & want to move to disc, you will need one of these "Frame Adapters" as a first step, which adds a 51mm iso standard disc mount to your frame. After that, your choice of caliper and rotor will dictate which "disc adapter" you'll need in addition to this "frame adapter". Plenty of info out there for choosing the right adapter...for your adapter! Enjoy at your own risk!

        Doesn't work with 160mm rotors

        Comments:

I put this on an 05 Gary Fisher Sugar 4 and it fit perfectly. The only problem is that the adapter is too short for the rotors I have (160mm). It may work with a 120mm. Looks like it won't even work with a 140mm - at least on this bike.

        Comments:

This was just what I needed to upgrade my old 2003 Gary Fisher Sugar 3+ to full disk brakes. The only down side was there is no mounting hardware. It was minor for me due to me having a 2004 trek fuel with the same setup so I just took the 3 bolts I needed to mount to the bike to the local hardware store and got some to match. So all and all if you want to upgrade your older trek/fisher to disk this is the fix. Fast shipping great price thanks Bicycle Center.
